A deadly outbreak spreads through Seattle after an unknown pathogen is unleashed, the beginning of a brutal apocalypse. The story follows a group of teenagers forced into survival mode as the adults undergo a violent transformation. An ongoing thread of the novel centers on uncovering the origin of the pathogen and the secret experimentation that released it, as the remaining youth learn that survival now means staying ahead of those who once promised to protect them.
